Blake- N @PBSAniDom Apr 19 Into the Woods is a good Disney film that successfully brings a darker, more mature twist to classic fairy tale characters. It weaves multiple stories together in an interesting way, and the musical format helps give it a unique identity compared to typical Disney productions. The cast is strong overall, with several standout performances that help carry the film through its more uneven moments. The production design and costumes are also impressive, creating a believable and slightly eerie fairy tale world that feels different from the usual bright and simple Disney style. The film does feel a bit rushed in the second half, and not all story threads are developed as deeply as they could be. However, the ambition behind it is clear, and it mostly succeeds in what it tries to do. Overall, Into the Woods is an enjoyable and creative Disney musical with a darker edge, even if it isn’t perfect. A solid 7/10. The actual story setup was okay, but the cast was just perfect. I love the twist on each fairytale and how they joined together. I will say the first half was better than the second. I think it is better that they didn’t hire people all of the same age and kept a variety. The music is so hard to sing I don’t know how the cast was able to do it.
