Ray C 2d (Road to Doomsday pt. 3) Iron Man 2 will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was the first Marvel movie I ever watched years ago. I still think it holds up on rewatch. That being said, it’s definitely a drop in quality compared to the original Iron Man. The main problem is that it feels overstuffed. Despite being a bit shorter than the first movie, it easily has three times the subplots. We’re dealing with Tony’s conflict with the government, Whiplash, Justin Hammer, setting up the Avengers, and more all in one film. I still find it enjoyable, though. Downey is obviously the highlight, and there are some solid action scenes here. Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer is phenomenal and I wish we got to see more of him. The finale with Whiplash, however, was underwhelming. The stuff with Rhodey and the drones beforehand works well, but the actual final battle feels like a letdown. En algunos puntos de la película, sentía que Pepper y Tony se dejaron solos entre sí y por eso se derrumbaron. Por parte de Hammer, me da demasiada risa que es muy evidente que imita a Tony. Aplaudo la aparición de Black Widow, pero demasiado, demasiado sexualizada; me hubiese gustado otra introducción para ella.
