Carlos 01/05/2025 None hit like the OG See more Leah K @RT99763861 3d they tried so hard to make a movie like the og movies so tried creating a big twist with the "it was a old saw trap" but it felt like they tried to hard See more Par H @Parhwy 6d Jig Saw (2017) is a 91-minute-long (86-minutes sans end credits) US horror I saw on Netflix in June 2026. OG Saw was ground-breaking. This film has a made-for-TV production values. The sets are so clean, staged, so too are the costumes and make-up. Believability is weak. Even on a small scale: guy in hazmat suit opens a coffin… not wearing a face mask. The ending is a rug-pull caused by editing not story or plot. The budget for this film was $10 million and it recouped $100 million. I am not a franchise fan nor a fan of this film. As a story, as a film, it used red herrings, thirst traps, devious editing to drive intrigue. The SPX and or CGI was good. And, again, it had a made-for-TV or $2-bin feel. The final monologue is an incredible amount of wank. Rewatch? No. Recommend. 3/10. See more Ava R @RT31850892 6d Been binging the franchise as a first time watcher and fan of horror. Amazing movie considering they were picking up after seven years, just wish they utilized the plot twist of the previous movie with Dr Lawrence. The end where Nelson ends the movie by saying "I speak for the dead" then sliding the door shut was so cool, just wish the "Game Over" tagline had been used as it was in all previous movies. All in all, great movie, gore was 10/10, storyline 10/10. I don't dislike it but it feels a bit corporate and sanitized. It has a less gritty and a more modern feel compared to 1-7. This was the first Saw movie I watched and I remember loving it, but watching it again after some of the more tension filled earlier entries, I wasn't as impressed. It felt more focused than 4-7 (those of which I found a lot harder to follow). I think this was a good move as a series reset at the time. The traps are overall decent but overall the film is much tamer than the others in the series. Feels like a safe by the numbers Saw film, nothing more but nothing less.
