The Juror 1996

The Juror

Critics Consensus

Self-serious despite its abundance of trite twists, The Juror is a drab thriller that audiences may hold in contempt.

Movie Info

With his gangster boss (Tony Lo Bianco) on trial for murder, a mob thug known as "the Teacher" (Alec Baldwin) tells Annie Laird (Demi Moore) she must talk her fellow jurors into a not-guilty verdict, implying that he'll kill her son Oliver (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) if she fails. She manages to do this, but, when it becomes clear that the mobsters might want to silence her for good, she sends Oliver abroad and tries to gather evidence of the plot against her, setting up a final showdown.

I thought this movie was a great thrill. Though I thought it was a little predictable at time because I've seen lots of similar movies before. Demi Moore plays the juror who also is a single mom and she gets threatened by a man who has connections to the case.

This movie I felt was just average. It wasn't bad, it wasn't good - it was kind of just there...

When Annie Laird is selected as a juror in a big Mafia trial, she is forced by someone known as "The Teacher" to persuade the other jurors to vote "not guilty". He threatens to kill her son if she doesn't commit. When the trial is over, he can't let her go...I think it,s pretty good

Entertaining, though its hard for me to get excited about old 90s action films anymore. Gotta love Demi Moore, its crazy how she still looks the same! Joseph Gordon-Levitt was lovable as her son, and wow, Alec Baldwin was a hottie in the 90s! I enjoyed his turn as a psycho mob hitman, it felt real. SPOILER: Unfortunately, there's a scene where he berates Demi on the phone, and all I could picture was him cussing out his daughter on the phone: "you're a rude little pig!!" But other than that, I was entertained!
