With his gangster boss (Tony Lo Bianco) on trial for murder, a mob thug known as "the Teacher" (Alec Baldwin) tells Annie Laird (Demi Moore) she must talk her fellow jurors into a not-guilty verdict, implying that he'll kill her son Oliver (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) if she fails. She manages to do this, but, when it becomes clear that the mobsters might want to silence her for good, she sends Oliver abroad and tries to gather evidence of the plot against her, setting up a final showdown.

Without revealing plot twists, I will say that the movie goes on a long while -- a very long while -- after the trial is over, and that a trip to the jungles of Guatemala is unnecessary, to put it mildly.

Filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são mais ou menos, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom.

I have never been so shocked by a low score. This is one of my favorite movies of all time. The script is tight, written by Ted Tally of Silence of the Lambs fame, the acting is fantastic, it's absolutely gripping, it's Alex's best role as a really bad guy, and Demi and Anne Heche are A-Ma-Zing. What's wrong with people.

Synopsis
