Did two different people write this movie? Because the plot and is all over the place whacko. One minute someone is a protagonist, the next their a antagonist. One second the movie is a Bonnie and Clyde film, then the next it's a slasher film. Overall disappointing.
Pretty bland...somewhat better than Chainsaw 3D however...but not by much
After the death of his daughter on the Sawyer's family property, the local sheriff has the youngest child taken away for his own protection. Unable to prove anything he spends the next 10 years consumed with thoughts of revenge while the youngest child grows up in a mental institution. As a teenager, he breaks out with some fellow inmates who set out on a murderous rampage as they head home.
Leatherface is another attempt to create a decent origin story for the infamous member of the Sawyer family. To it's credit, this is purely a prequel, no flashing forward to the chaos of the central film like other prequels have done and there is one clever aspect to the film in that the residents of the mental institution have had their names changed and so you're never 100% sure until close to the end which of these characters becomes Leatherface. However, that is where the praise ends. The rest of the movie is a bit of a cobbled together mess. The characters weren't especially well written and i felt it jumped into the gore a little too quickly. It's probably time to leave the Sawyer family be now.
A really sick, degenerative 'movie', I use the term loosely, as it is more like a guide to becoming a mentally ill degenerate. It is no wonder our younger generation is so prone to violence, animosity, and hostility when you see trash like this warping their young minds. Satan could not have produced anything better to pervert and defile people's minds. The is zero redeeming quality as it is just an endless spewing of mindless violence & gore. Save yourself an hour and a half of your life that you won't get back and avoid this abominable flick.
It's a mediocre entry to The Texas Chainsaw Franchise. Sam Strike really did a good job replicating 1974 Leatherface at the end. The rest of the movie was mediocre but if you're a Texas Chainsaw fan or just a horror fan in general I would definitely recommend this to you
This movie is complete BS. It has The worst casting And the worst story Oh YA
Leatherface's real name is Jackson? It's bubba! I think leatherface the Texas chainsaw massacre 3 is wayyy better
Honestly better than I thought it would be, but still not very good. Worth watching because it stands out from other TCM films. The twist as to who Leatherface actually turns out to be was a nice surprise and there is a good amount of gore throughout the movie as well. Actors were better than Texas Chainsaw 3D and the story itself was much better. Not winning any awards, but it doesn't hurt to watch.
This unnecessary prequel was okay for mostly of the time.
More of a origin story than a horror movie, Leatherface has it gruesome kills, but doesn't have that "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" feeling
Surprisingly really good, completely different to the original Texas chainsaw styled films! Very good with different twists!
Lots of bizarre styles like them having sex on a dead person and stuff like that, was very random!
