A sweet Japanese high school movie with sincere storyline.

The movie's speed is unreasonably slow and it doesn't necessarily surpass Aki Maeda's music videos or AKB48 in terms of artistic quality or originality, yet it makes reasonably clever social commentary made in the drama of being a band and the affections that arise from playing music, this is an amazingly entertaining and inspiring work of Japanese art and drama dialogue.

Bello, Bello...Bello, bello, bello. Impossibile non finire questo film canticchiando e avendo creato uno spazio nel cuore per le 4 protagoniste. Se non vi spaventa una storia delicata, guardatelo. (4,5/5)

A slice-of-life film from the female high schooler perspective. Fascinating film with amazing score.

A thoroughly charming coming of age story set against the backdrop of a group of girls learning a Japanese pop song for a talent show. They select a a Korean girl who barely speaks Japanese, much less knows how to sing it and thus begins the slow bonding/getting to know you stage of their friendships, which makes for some amusing and touching moments.

Well worth a look, recommended, especially for fans of foreign cinema.

Bae Doo Na acting and facial expressions were great.

The whole film reminds me of the best parts of childhood; friends, gala days at school, and not being afraid of anything.

Doesn't seem interesting.

Not ashamed to admit it. I can watch this movie on repeat all day long. In fact, have. This is where my obsession with Bae Doo-na began

Linda Linda Linda, from Nobuhiro Yamashita, focuses on friendship to put together a schoolgirl band."A music group of girls need to learn to play a song before the school festival." There really isn't a whole lot more to it than that. Spanning nearly two hours, if there is something missing from this picture, it is a little more meat to the plot; however, it is the slow dramatic style that gives this film its success. The tone makes it feel like time spent with the characters, rather than watching them.Linda Linda Linda is far from a comedy. The humor is subtle, and minimal at that, but effectively used. Like the storytelling, the smiles happen with the characters more than at them.Bae Du-na gets a lot of credit for this one, delivering both Korean and Japanese lines of dialogue. Kashii Yu, Aki Maeda, and Shiori Sekine round out the other likable band members.Linda Linda Linda may be mellow, but in the end it is a satisfying sit through.

I can see the appeal of this movie but then apart from being fresh, simple and straight to the point, what else can this movie do to catch your eyes? Very little.

If you don't mind the slow pace, this is a really enjoyable film with great payoff at the end.

Great movie. Amazing how every Japanese high school looks and works the same. Love the songs!

Enjoyable probably only if you are into Japanese culture. The film drags at times, but the performances of the four school girls/band members are all engaging. Especially Son, whose quixotic expressions seem to drive the whole high school zeitgeist experience.

Sweet Japanese film about four schoolgirls who form a band for the school talent contest. Luckily not as cliched as I'd feared, due to the focus on the girls and their friendship rather than the whole playing in a band thing.
