Lee Gates is a Wall Street guru who picks hot stocks as host of the television show "Money Monster." Suddenly, during a live broadcast, disgruntled investor Kyle Budwell storms onto the set and takes Gates hostage. He tells Lee that he lost everything on one of his tips. As Gates tries to plead with Kyle, he's also using an earpiece to communicate with his longtime producer in the control room. Together, they must figure out a way to defuse the situation and disarm the angry young man.

If you love being lectured by elitist Hollywood millionaires on why all other millionaires are evil you'll love this movie. Spoiler Alert: (as if this wasn't predictable anyway) the CEO of Ibis Capital Management is a vile evil white man who steals from his clients. The paragon of virtue in the movie is the black South African Cesar Chavez who can't be bribed. (South Africe is one of the most corrupt places on the planet in reality) Capitalism is evil, the stock market is rigged, and all working class folks are not responsible for their decisions and are instead at the whims of a vast conspiracy that colludes to hold them down in poverty. Sigh...
