It's elegant and weird.
Native is an aesthetic piece of science fiction philosophy, which will certainly entertain a distinct crowd of people.
With this sci-fi concept, the writer/director Daniel Fitzsimmons means to say something about the human condition, but the fact his characters aren't human makes the story too arbitrary to have pathos.
Graves and Kendrick give their all to an intriguing, resourceful but underwhelming production.
A mix of intelligent fringe theatre and pulp science-fiction, this isn't going to work for everyone - but it's ambitious, unusual and thought-provoking.
The ideas are all there, but what it has in premise, it lacks it delivery.
An eye-catching, ideas-driven debut that turns its limited budget to its advantage, with shrewd lead performances.
For a story concerned with exploring the furthest reaches of both space and the human mind, Native is both derivative and bland.
