A must see. Superb acting and story.
This is one of those movies small town movies that you just love. Billy Bob gives a great performance and the story is really well written. One of the best movies from the 90s.
What can I say Billy Bob Thorton didn't even have to act in this one where he played a retarded man he just acted like himself.
Billy Bob Thornton's debut project is a winning combination of character development, strong acting, and a clockwork plot that manages to not come across as a screenplay cheat.
I must applaud every actor involved as the intimacy scenes between their characters emits a brilliant aura of compatibility between their conversations and the audience.
Absolutely mind blowing! Great screen play! Great Acting! One of the best movies of all time.
Great story and fanatic zcting
Great story and acting. Thornton and Fitted are outstanding in their roles. Dwight Yokum does a great job also. All worthy of academy award consideration in my book!
Sometimes a movie is so authentic you just can't take your eyes off it. Real characters. The story brims with loving yet haunting scenes. The main character is a genius acting achievement by Billy Bob Thornton, also wrote and directed. Family safe. Genuine characters throughout. Amazing storytelling on every level.
Standing clapping for the actor performance, mental health disease performed to its finest. It was really good story
Garbage, original concept ruined by half assed execution
Still remains a unique and unequaled drama. Every element is superb - dialog, acting, plot, pace -- you name it. Only minor glitch is with the failure to properly age Robert Duval who has a tiny part as the main character's father.
