Just a movie to spend the time, but good to remember music in the 70s.
It's hilarious! Meanwhile people on this site give Thank God It's Friday one or two stars but will brazenly give a horrible movie in the 2000's era five stars. What the hell do you know about comedy? Obviously nothing you stupid millennials!
Donna Summer, Andrea Howard, kittens all!! A fun trip back to the 70's, great music
Disco cult classic. Soundtrack full of many hits, Motown Productions showcase their talent well in the film. This film is a nice break from the tense world we live in today!
How can you hate this movie? It has Donna Summer in it. Not every movie needs to be Oscar-worthy.
Disco cult classic I'd never seen is a fun artifact of its time, but taken on its own is not all that good. The film follows a collection of characters who's lives intersect one evening at Jeff Goldbum's(!) L.A. discotheque. It's kind of like "Saturday Night Fever" meets a Robert Altman ensemble film (imagine a bad disco version of "Nashville"). Comparing this to an Altman film is way too generous because this filmls episodic and overlapping stories are closer to your average episode of "The Love Boat" or "Fantasy Island." Still, the hair & fashion, the music (including a score by Giorgio Moroder), and a before-they-were-famous Jeff Goldblum and Debra Winger make "Thank God It's Friday" an entertaining time capsule, if not an actual good film.
i have such fond memories of going with a group of friends seeing this in the theater now some may call this a 'saturday night fever' knock off but i disagree the music is the same but otherwise they r both different.
this scattershot piece of disco shenanigans is very boring. it tries to be something like a robert altman movie with it's big cast of characters and their separate storylines. as a piece of history in terms of the disco era it works, but as a piece of entertainment it suffers largely because of it's dull approach and very uninteresting characters. early appearances from debra winger and jeff goldblum.
One of my favorite movies of its kind . Love donna summer !!
Best disco movie ever made, a rare gem, its got so much going on. Has one of the funniest best dance scenes on a bunch of cars I have ever seen. Great cast of characters, and sum big names, not just in music but in the acting world. Look for a young Debra Winger, and Jeff Goldblum, Donna Summer, the commodores. This movie just a lot of fun to watch you can watch it over and over. Sum people just don't like simple fun movies, and need complex bullshit too feel good with way too much drama sum times. Its nice to have just a cool fun movie, set to disco music that doesn't suck balls or is so badly done its pure cheese.
