05/20/2017 Drawn in by an interesting description -- man found unconscious and bleeding on rail tracks -- I thought this would be a different and existential journey. Instead, I found myself in what felt more like a vanity, searching-for-approval piece, riding on the back of talented artists. While it somewhat improves as it progresses, one is still left with the impression that Mr. Fox still lives mostly in his world and in his head while searching for the answers from other people and places. I left him to finish his journey alone, the same way I would leave a tour bus if I found I was only to be shepherded into predetermined tourist traps. In the beginning, he discussed recovery and the need to recognize lack of control. That is a work yet to be finished, and if he ever manages to accomplish that, there may be room for passengers who aren't merely strapped in and silent. One cannot fault him for his attempts, but it's not necessary to join him either. See more Read all reviews
