This is, after all, a daughter profiling her dad and his co-worker. That intimacy informs the energy of the film, and opens up avenues hardly available to most documentarians.

Drove two hours to see the movie, was not disappointed, glad I did the drive. Enjoyed the interaction between Caro and Gottlieb and their humor. Found their background interesting and have a feeling I know who they are now, what wonderful people.

This documentary was FABULOUS!!! I intend to view it again. When it endedI wanted more. It was rich in the life details of both Robert Caro and Robert Gottlieb. Theirs was a deep and complicated partnership and creative communication. I did not expect the wealth of information that was offered in every framefrom a thought filled writers walk in Central Park to the care that an editor felt when having to remove hundreds of pages from what has since become an important literary work. I was mesmerized from beginning to end. See it!
