02/18/2011 This is without doubt one of the most amazing documentaries you'll ever see. Two young Australian men, with limited money and no film-making experience, have one amazing adventure after another as they travel extensively throughout the Pacific, Asia and Africa. They sail throughout the Pacific, with no refrigeration, visiting one island after another, experiencing all kinds of cultures and peoples. They go skiing in Japan, and experience Buddhism and freezing temperatures there. They go to Calcutta in India, and see the death and misery and starvation, whilst everywhere in that city, fat cows roam the streets. They travel to Kenya and right down to Cape Town, seeing all kinds of animals and peoples. They travel through Mozambique, when it was a hot war-zone and their convoy had to crawl at a snail's pace because of land mines. They visit Ethiopia, at the time experiencing a terrible famine, and they see first-hand the death and suffering there. They travel right throughout central Africa and meet up with a bunch of friendly pygmies. Then perhaps most amazingly of all, they cross the boiling hot Sahara in their beat-up old vehicle that somehow, amazingly, managed to last the whole African journey, although it broke down many times. So many times their lives were on the line throughout their adventure, whether it be from isolation, landmines, weather extremes, or dangerous people and animals. And this is their truly amazing story! See more Read all reviews
