The editing by David Tillman and Patrick Nelson Barnes is terrific given all the moving parts and the pace at which this “American Manhunt” entry moves, and the trail of societal damage it left behind. Go to Full Review

Does the world really need another documentary about O.J. Simpson and his scandals? Not really, but this docuseries uncovers a few interesting tidbits about the murder investigation and features a rare interview with former prosecutor Christopher Darden. Go to Full Review

We learn evidence that was withheld that conclusively proved Simpson’s guilt and all manner of facts never made public. This series brings it back viscerally, clearly and with renewed horror. Go to Full Review

American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson is at its best when it collects all of the places where the LAPD and DA’s office botched what seemed to be an overwhelming case against Simpson, but otherwise it doesn’t reveal anything all that new about the case. Go to Full Review

American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson is so compelling, gripping, and, at times, jaw-dropping. This behind-the-scenes true crime docuseries pulls back the curtain on the maneuvering and details the stranglehold the media coverage had on American viewers. Go to Full Review

Aaron S @Aro0on Jun 7 One of the best documentaries I have ever seen. I would like to watch a similar one about Jeffrey Epstein. See more Davey M @RT19992480 Apr 23 No big surprises in this show. Having followed the trial closely, this show just validated the general consensus of what most theories were. There were a few interesting nuggets. If you forgot some of the timeline and specifics, this wraps it all up nicely. OJ was a real POS who should have died in prison. I'm not sure why the government let him out on parole after giving him a 33 year sentence. When they showed the part where OJs attorney said that OJ actually confessed killing Nicole saying, "if she had only answered the door without a knife in hand she'd still be alive"... that part was just sickening. See more David F @dfulmer 03/05/2025 This is an excellent documentary about the O.J. Simpson murder case. It would almost seem like there is nothing more to say about it at this point, what with all the other TV shows, movies, and books about the case but somehow this one felt like a worthwhile effort with some really pointed commentary. There were two really strong highlights, one being Christopher Darden, one of the prosecuting attorneys who had a front row seat at the trial and had some really insightful and poignant observations to make about the trial, the legal strategies, and American culture. The other highlight is Carl Douglas, who was an attorney on the defense team and also had a front row seat and also has great insights and a dramatic flair in telling his observations. See more Connor H @RT48811897 03/02/2025 Very well-done. I only knew the basic story before but this went into lots of detail. Hours of footage from the time including crime scene and court recordings, and interviews with many of the people involved including investigators and forensic team, lawyers from both sides, victims' family, OJ friends, a juror, etc. There was no narrator; didn't need one. Insightful captions were interjected throughout, such as regarding many instances of evidence not being presented at trial. Substantially explored both sides and how the court/legal/jury selection, events and societal forces at the time influenced the outcome. Terrific pacing and presented in a way that wasn't boring. Documentary done right. See more Read all reviews
