America’s Test Kitchen: The Next Generation is symptomatic of larger disturbances in the force of food TV—including creative stasis, casual shoplifting of ideas and the fact that too many borrowed ideas can spoil a perfectly presentable broth. Go to Full Review

H H @HHHHHH739 May 27 This is ATK under its new mega corporate overlords. Bland, generic, copycat, me too content. RIP to a once great organization. See more Bob P @RT10284018 Apr 2 Was all excited when I saw that they had a new show. Went to Prime Video to watch and was disappointed right from the start. First off, the hostess, Jeannie, turned me off, Way out of character of the type of person I associate with ATK. Maybe because I watch a lot of the British as well, I was expecting a little more sophistication and a lot more participation from the ATK staff. They are the people I'm familiar with and respect and the people I want to see. If this is supposed to be an actual comparison test between the contestants, then level the playing field and give all the contestants the same main ingredient to get a real true creativity comparison. If Julia wants to be a judge then maybe Jack or Bridget or Adam or Brian as the host and the second judge. It also reminded me of the Food Network unwatchables to a certain degree. See more Chris P @RT59180984 08/20/2023 I was very disappointed in this show. I have loved ATK since Chris K left. I was eager to see this show when I saw it was available on Freevee. But all that changed just a few shows in when it was obvious they already picked who the winner would be. They gave Antoinette so many passes when they let other contestants go for similar issues. They just went with the "safe" choice and didn't take a chance on anyone else. Also the show was too focused on social media and that was a huge turn off. ATK shot themselves in the foot with this show. I won't go looking for their shows in the future. See more Cyndi B @RT25211189 03/29/2023 Please this show is so forced. I want to see the other America's Test Kitchen. Yuk! See more Joseph G @RT57443826 02/23/2023 A really great show! It's simultaneously not ATK but it is ATK too. The format is a relatively standard cooking competition, full of gregarious, funny, likeable, (some unlikeable) characters competing for a grand prize. But the nature of the tasks are very ATK. Reinventing recipes for particular formats, using science to achieve particular cooking results, having to use particular cooking techniques with specific ingredients. Some of the top stars from the show (Dan, Jack, Julia, Elle) appear throughout the season appraising the contestants' work in the way they would during their normal workload. It's like you're getting an insight into how the day-to-day of ATK plays out on new talent who may or may not fit in. Also, really watchable! See more cj s @RT20393060 12/16/2022 Not an ATK typical show. It's more sidebar edited snippets of mostly needy millennial types trying to get on television. Girl this show ain't for me.
