Jonathan’s dithering is reflected in Avoidance’s unsure tone, and in Green’s wavering direction. It’s not a tight, consistently funny comedy, or insightful enough to justify the meandering pace. Go to Full Review

There are some funny lines but, mostly, I found it sad. Go to Full Review

Avoidance does a good job of showing just how socially crippled its main character is, but also makes sure that his affliction is shown in contrast to those that care for him the most. Go to Full Review

Vincent L @Chenzie Apr 9 At first it is somewhat painful watching someone who can’t even let the waitress know that he has had the wrong breakfast order every day for who knows how many days. But once you commit to this show it has a sort of Ted Lasso-esque tenderness and humor that is refreshingly relatable. I really think this should just be one long season (1 and 2 combined) because they are certainly not stand-alone seasons. Do yourself a favor and binge this fantastic little comedic slice-of-life masterpiece. I truly enjoyed watching the relationships transform in ways we aren’t accustomed to seeing on television and are thoroughly satisfying. Bravo. But what he's created here is a non laugh TV show. Poor script, leaving the actors nothing to work with. Big disappointment. See more Read all reviews
