Under Anand Tiwari’s controlled and sensitive direction, the Rathod family members, along with Radhe’s uncle Devendra (Saurabh Nayyar), coalesce well, much like the composition and collaboration they speak of in the context of classical music. Go to Full Review

Unfortunately for Bandish Bandits, its sophomore season buckles under the heft of its own dramatic tempo, and ultimately fails to replicate its earlier rhythm. Go to Full Review

The themes of patriarchy, gender parity, loyalty, love, friendship and empowerment are woven into the narrative. Not all of it comes together without the seams sticking out awkwardly. Go to Full Review

Shantanu C @RT64091432 12/15/2024 Season 1 of Bandish Bandits is far superior to Season 2. The story and music in the first season were exceptional, but unfortunately, Season 2 fell short and tarnished the series' reputation. By the time I reached the second episode of Season 2, I was already losing interest and felt bored until Episode 5. As always, Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, and Rajesh Tailang's performances were outstanding, and I thoroughly enjoyed their roles. However, I had higher expectations for Ritwik Bhowmik's performance this time around. While I hoped he would show significant growth and take on a more impactful role compared to Season 1, his performance felt somewhat underwhelming. I appreciated the acting of Aaliyah Qureishi (as Ananya), Rohan Gurbaxani (as Ayaan), and Yashaswini Dayama (as Soumya) who were new in this season. Unfortunately, Shreya Chaudhry's performance was a disappointment. Her acting often felt flat and lacked the depth and nuance I expected. I was perplexed by the message regarding the chemistry between Tamanna (Shreya Chaudhry) and Ayaan (Rohan Gurbaxani) across Seasons 2 and 3 felt questionable. It gives the impression that if your ex ignores you, making love with another person is a valid response to forget or a way to be fearless!!! This narrative felt like it was normalizing one-night stands as a response to emotional difficulties, which didn't sit well with me. However, the "move on" concept introduced in Episode 4 offered a more positive and refreshing perspective. My personal favorites were Episode 6 and Episode 7. I felt a genuine sense of empathy for Radhe, who remains my favourite character. I hope the writers explore the possibility of a meaningful pairing between Radhe and Ananya in a meaningful way if Season 3 is released. While I am not a film or art critic, these are my honest observations as a viewer. I sincerely hope future instalments of Bandish Bandits live up to the legacy of Season 1. See more Read all reviews
