It’s a cool, forward-looking way to continue the franchise and pretty much exactly what I hoped it would be: familiar in spirit but bold enough to feel new. The futuristic Gotham and Terry’s arc are strong hooks, and the Bruce mentorship dynamic works great. I would’ve loved more recurring characters and deeper lore to connect it to the wider mythos, but as a foundation, it’s a promising and stylish start that earns its place in the legacy. Equal parts Batman: The Animated Series and Bladerunner, this cyberpunk-influenced show has since struck up a massive cult following and is just one more example of the influence of the aforementioned cartoon. Admittedly, compared to the other entries in my list, I joined the party late, but after one episode, I was able to see the appeal.
