What to Know

Critics Consensus

A brilliantly bonkers blend of comedy and horror, Crazyhead slays thanks in large part to Cara Theobold and Susan Wokoma's dynamic chemistry.

The way it subverts those tropes and expectations, and messes with the power dynamics they've created, is part of what makes Crazyhead so exciting. Go to Full Review
Anna Leszkiewicz New Statesman 11/28/2017
Like the US sitcoms Broad City or Parks and Rec, the jokes in Crazyhead flirt with edginess while ultimately remaining sweet-natured, rooted as they are in the dynamics between characters who care deeply for one another. Go to Full Review

Expect darkness, clown masks and lots of one-liners. Go to Full Review

'Crazyhead' was fun, smart, empowering, and ahead of its time. This gem deserved a second season. Go to Full Review

A deliciously raw humor, impolite and overflowing with verbal discoveries dialogue, and an hilarious insistence on bursting the conventions of the genre of terror through mockery. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The gags come thick and fast in this horror romp and you are immediately rooting for Amy and Raquel as they face the world and underworld together as soon-to-be best friends. Go to Full Review

Michael Antony A @RT48850580 01/11/2025 Mikey’s TV Review: Crazyhead (2016) A funny, violent potty mouthed horror comedy series from Howard (Misfits) Overman comes at you like 'Buffy' on acid! The 6 episodes feel complete, though I guarantee by the end you'll be wanting more. Unlike E4, who are sadly ditched a 2nd helping. Hopefully Netflix will find value in it and produce it themselves one day... Susan Wokoma makes a refreshing, feisty lead and Tony Curran eats the scenery at every opportunity. Must-see-tv! Mikey’s TV Rating: 4/5 See more Veronika S @RT74892822 10/20/2024 One of the best shows ever cancelled 😞 I have no idea what goes on in the minds of TV executives when a show that’s a hit straight out with the best reviews doesn’t get a second series. This one rivalled Buffy the Vampire Slayer for uniquely funny comedy horror - it had an edge against US shows as this was British humour. I hope the writers behind this hit have some second season scripts in storage and someone brings this series back somehow. See more Patrick D @RT65772407 09/11/2020 Why on earth wasn't this renewed? See more 06/05/2020 Lots of swings and misses with the jokes, and the ones that are funny the delivery and timing are just strange. A far cry from parks and rec as one of the critics mentioned. See more 03/10/2019 An ongoing series of badly timed "" jokes" and theoretically comedic scenes leavenex with what one hopes are intentionally bad horror flick tropes. In the demon slaying genre i would take Buffy, Charmed, or Supernatural above this ham fisted "comedy." See more 10/07/2018 It’s like a modern day Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Skins meets Supernatural, with a touch of The Walking Dead. The costume makeup for the demons is disturbingly brilliant, and the banter between the two self-proclaimed “Hell Bitches” provides for a kickass, girl power infused chemistry. Oh, and the all demons are wickedly hot. 100% binge-worthy show. When is season 2 coming out??? Give the people what they want! See more Read all reviews
