Robert C @RT06316267 2 days ago The biggest flaw about this show was the terrible trailer on Netflix that included the punchline of almost all the best jokes that play into Asian stereotypes with none of the setup context around that joke. In fact this show does a wonderful job of showing very real pressure Asian children face from their family and the general public stereotyping them to show how trying to live up to these "good" stereotypes are impossible causing each of them to go through hilarious hardships created solely by themselves. Like Andrew is the horniest gay guy in existence potentially and was even a co-founder of a highly successful start up with his white counter part trying to oust him. Immediately I thought the white guy was trying to take credit of the minority but they reverse that stereotype because Andrew is an idiot who spreading office gossip. The white guy is a complete dick, but he actually did do all the work that Andrew mooched off of. Good show, try it out. See more E M @TricksterPhobia 3 days ago I like the mix of a decent pace and chaos. A lot of shows today are generally very fast paced and loud, which can be a bit overwhelming. But this show did a good job at balancing itself. The characters are interesting, and the voice acting is really good. The first season carries itself very well as an independent show, but I am hopeful for a second season or more to come in the future. There is a lot of story potential, both with Ruthie's single-parent pregnancy and how she is trying to build her village with her emotionally distant younger siblings. But also with Eunice and Andrew's co-depencies, and how they navigate through daily life and relationships. There's a lot of character nuance to be explored. It would be genuinely saddening to see Netflix drop this show after a single season. I think that it has a lot of potential. Definitely for the younger generations who can relate to Andrew and Eunice in my opinion. The sense of humor reminds me of Broad City and will definitely be placed in my "sick day tv binge" lineup for this upcoming flu season! I’m a big fan of the Klerp storylines happening and the parents provided insight as to why the characters are the way they are. I’m excited for a season 2! Honestly this show is a pretty good argument for the Asian community to keep being really over bearing and to keep beating their kids so they don't turn into huge disappointments, actually it does a really good job at showing everyone New York is also awful. Its such a strange take on a comedic show, there's one episode where the older sister hates socialism aspects of the community while expecting her useless siblings to help her raise her kid? The middle brother is literally always getting beat up into piles of trash everywhere? I dunno. It was 8 episodes running 30 minutes long, if you have to clean your house or something I guess watch it and see if you can appreciate it.
