Maxpein del Valle, a spunky provincial girl raised by her grandmother and uncle after her mother dies, moves to Manila with her newly discovered wealthy father where she is treated as an unwelcome outsider at Benison International School and bullied by Deib Lohr Enrile, the basketball varsity captain. Their game of cat-and-dog one-upmanship turns into an undeniable crush, but the return of the ghosts from their past and their various family problems threaten to ruin the blossoming and fragile romance.
