What HSM:TM:TS lacks in [Kenny] Ortega’s visual flair and campy cohesion, it makes up for in its earnest, openhearted stories about teenage thespians – like Glee but with the snark and sentimentality proportions reversed. Go to Full Review

HSMTMTS works best when it’s the main crew tackling a problem with a We’re all in this together mentality, which unfortunately doesn’t take shape until late in the season. Go to Full Review

Succeeds in acknowledging the importance of found family while allowing its characters to deal with the emotional ramifications of how the drama club has helped inspire them all, and how these relationships are the strength and heart of the series. Go to Full Review

Jerry M. @JerryWayneM Nov 23 Easily the BEST season and finale to an amazing show. Great See more Stephen C @bob25009 Jul 7 8 funny musical episodes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more Bianca L @RT41327634 Jul 3 I can't understand these High scores. I couldnt even finish It. Too horrified. See more Esteban C @RT03454761 08/24/2023 a bittersweet farewell at last. after an astonishing first season, questionable second and third ones and this amazing fourth with a comeback, this show that was very well criticized ended in an unconventional medium. this season we finally return to fall semester, senior year, with all the inconveniences this whole process brings. we get new characters that in my opinion were useless and brought unecessary drama for the show, and the return of most of the cast from the previous seasons. yes, i'm looking at you olivia. NINA, WTF ARE YOU?! anyways, in the big picture this season gives the closure we needed to end it all up! some things doesn't make sense, and the fact that they're supposed to be filming an HSM4 reunion movie and the original movie characters apart from mrs.darbus had just like an appereance in episode one was very questionable. even though i think ricky and gina are a great couple, i still can't get over the fact that he moved on from nini way too fast. for me they're the real endgame. i loved ej appereances and how those weren't by any mean forced! they seemed natural and he helped ricky develop in incredible ways. i loved how kourtney dealt through with colllege and life after high school. her realizations were great, but same as ricky, she being NINI'S BEST FRIEND, forgot about her instantly! as in or the other characters, including ashlyn, carlos, seb, maddox and jet, they were all great and didn't have a problem with their arcs. to end things right, the showtopper, jennifer! MISS JEN, you're probably the best character that came out of this series and i appreacite you in ways i can't even fully comprehend. loved that she ended up with mazarra and ricky's parents together was something i didn't see coming but in a way was needed for closure. as i said, the season went at a good pace and i enjoyed watching it. maybe it was because i was able to binge it, since it all came out in one day, or the storylines were really entertaining and great above all. maybe it was both. the ending was a little dissapointing, because even though i found peace with all of them and watching them sing born to be brave was in a way iconic, i think i would have loved seeing the senior graduate, in a very HSM3 finale style. we cut practically in the end of the fall semester, having the last one up for grabs. somehting odd, but i'll let it pass for the sake of it all! long story short, liked the season a lot and i think it ended when it needed to. i'm so grateful i got to experience, not only this, but the whole series because it made my heart full in so many ways and i just had the most fun returning to this iconic 2000s fictional, or not so relly, world! ONCE A WILDCAT, ALWAYS A WILDCAT <3 See more Ranny L @RT68152916 08/22/2023 I love High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season . It's filled with engaging content and storylines that keeps you hooked. The characters and themes are easy to enjoy and understand, especially if you are a High School Musical fan and even if you are new to the series. The new series joins the East High drama club's return from a hectic summer camp when things take an unexpected turn. The original cast of High School Musical, the movie, arrives to introduce a new movie idea with the East High drama club included in the cast. The drama club will also stage an adaptation of one of the HSM films. The plot moves quickly and is fun and easy to follow with some unexpected surprises along the way. Each episode recaps the previous storyline and keeps it going with new twists, subplots and characters that make them easy to watch and watch again. The camera work with smooth zooms and clear focus on the actors enhances the viewing experience. I love how the costumes match the vibe of average teens, featuring popular brands and fresh styles. I appreciate the attention to detail with the set design; they truly reflect high schoolers rooms from the neat and organized to the truly messy. I couldn't help but enjoy the music. The background music really sets the mood and moves the story along. But it is the cast's songs that really tell the story with well-rounded lyrics and fun-to-listen-to melodies. I really enjoyed the harmonies of the Halloween special; full of fun and a great surprise to start off the first episode of the season—an excellent beat. The new main character Gina (Sofia Wylie) shows a deep emotional side while remaining strong and confident. I enjoy how relatable her character is. The scriptwriter did a strong job with fast-moving dialogue that is witty, complex and heartfelt. The writers create a series that entertains, with a story inside of a story, without being confusing. My favorite part is when Gina meets Mark (Matthew Sato) her childhood crush and her current boyfriend Ricky (Joshua Bassett) jealously and comically tries to prove he's better than him. The message of this series is about taking things slowly, not rushing into decisions, and figuring things out calmly. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season 4 gets 5 out of 5 stars and I recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. By Madeleine H., KIDS FIRST! See more Read all reviews
