Documentary filmmaker John Wilson embarks on an odyssey of self-discovery and cultural observation by covertly filming the lives of fellow New Yorkers while trying to share advice. John attempts to give advice while dealing with his own personal issues. The episodes, framed as tutorials and filmed mainly on the streets of New York City, cover topics from small talk to scaffolding. While each episode initially focuses on its title topic, in the course of his investigation, Wilson meets people and strikes up conversations that lead in unpredictable directions.

The show's second season is generally smoother and more confident in its storytelling approach than the first; it's less an unexpected treasure, but still capable of surprising. Go to Full Review

Green C @Green804 08/26/2023 Quirky, weird, sometimes too graphic but incredibly unique and eye-opening. See more 01/29/2022 Love it just as much as Season 1. It's incredibly poetic and hilarious. Some of the most well written and unique episodes of a TV show I've ever seen. In a sea of bland repetitive content John Wilson's style soars above everyone else. I could kiss this man. Just incredible filmaking. See more George G @Gdgipson 12/16/2021 This show is so clever and unique. People are such haters. See more 12/15/2021 Really weird and awkward, but hilarious and full of really great New York footage. Very funny show if you enjoy shows like Nathan For You. See more 12/09/2021 Hilarious. An absolute palate-cleanser. We love this show! See more WillfromSF W 12/04/2021 Boring, formulaic. Flailing, failed attempts at humor. See more Read all reviews
