The chronological structure is clean and almost predictable, but the show pays close attention to what slowly happens to the living as they struggle on behalf of the dead. Go to Full Review

Sheridan Smith is well versed at bawling emotion and grandstanding speeches, and these get a good workout here. Go to Full Review

It is humanity pitched against legal technicalities, and the humanity here is palpable. Go to Full Review

Dave C @RT09838700 Sep 21 A powerful and significant story, with a lot of trauma and pain to unpack and distill. Whilst SS is great, and I'm not sure if it's her strongest performance (Mrs. Biggs; Cilla; Four Lives all remain on my watchlist), I was impressed. The direction and writing are equally impressive, with some great settings and wardrobe work to boot See more Mark J @RT68000586 Sep 16 This takes the "strong female lead" to a whole new level! And why is it these famous "actors" can't manage to actually cry when the role demands it? Instead of the silly catterwalling, not great. See more Read all reviews
