I absolutely LOVE Inventing Anna, first watched it about a month after it came out and oh my god i am OBSESSED!! If you like sort of like true crime shows (documentary and not/based off a true story) then i would recommend this. Inventing Anna is based off a true story, the story of the fake German Heiress, Anna Sorokin or ‘Anna Delvey' (as she named herself). It includes many talented actors such as Julia Garner, Laverne Cox, Anna Chlumsky and many more!! Personally i would say, for people who love series like these, this is a must see!!

Shondaland puts out another poop burger. I sat through this thing hoping it would get better, and it did...as soon as it was over. Too bad. Great cast! They did the best they could with this "true" story as they could. I will never understand why so many of the facts are replaced with political bias, racism, and an overall disdain for history. A vomit smoothie served in a dirty glass. Please....can we stop with the garbage writing already????

Just like it's subject matter, this feel like's a con. The further I continued with this series the less I cared about it's conclusion. What tries to be some sort of profound ending, is just flat, and it doesn't help when all the lead characters are despicable in some capacity

Want to watch a show that glorifies mismanagement of personal finance to the point that you allow friends to put their own financial well-being into a dumpster fire? Here you go. Want to blame "The Patriarchy" for how an attractive young female failed to get away with fraud? Here you go. This show glorifies the idea that the people who were taken advantage of were "Naive" and not logically incompetent to read the signs. I mean seriously, how many people can be so trusting to someone just because they "act rich?" This show also glorifies a bratty con artist who took "fake it till you make it," a bit too seriously and thought that it actually works like that. Let me tell you, everyone I've seen try that method, has failed and fallen hard in the real world. The show can be entertaining at points because the story is enough to get you to see how it ends, but it screams "Girl power," "Women Rule," and "Men are mere pets" vibes. Inspired by a journalists story, politicized by Netflix.

Bullet points: This story could have been told in half the time. Anna's Russian/German accent was atrocious. Whiney feminist rants get tiring. Vivian the reporter is the most pathetic pregnant character I've seen. Constant back aches and odd sitting and standing.

The accent is ridiculous that Anna's character uses. Maybe Americans fall for it but here in Europe it's ludicrous. I still don't see how she funded her lifestyle so many holes in this story it's boring to follow

Could they have dragged this story out any longer? And why the focus on the journalist? Vivian Kent is an annoying character - unprofessional at best. And the actor playing her was also bit much. Anna's story is fascinating enough - did not need the extra newsroom drama. This story could have been told in fewer episodes and been more taut and compelling. But it just dragged and too many characters with uninteresting backstories. But what made me the most angry was the beginning credit of every episode; "This story is completely true, except for the parts that are completely made up." How can you have it both ways? And not even clarify what's made up?

A movie about a swindler and scammer who is portrayed as victim. Let alone all irrelevant politically correct characters badly trying to stand up for their roles. This was one of the worst shows I have ever watched on already diminished Netflix.

I was hooked by this show halfway through the first episode. The subject matter was a fascinating mystery with many layers. The whole series was well acted. It was edited in a crisp and engaging way that seamlessly went back and forth from the present to the past through flashbacks. The final two episodes were a little messy and the show limped towards the finish line a bit. However, overall the show was great and touched on a lot of interesting fault lines of modern society from the super wealthy to social media to women's issues.
