Critic Reviews for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3

All Critics (22) | Top Critics (5)

Overall a pretty solid season opener: a lot of subtle recapping for those who don't remember last season, and just enough details to whet our whistles for the upcoming season.

Aug 22, 2018 | Full Review…

In the end, Season Three has definitely proven to be this show's strongest thus far.

Jul 17, 2018 | Full Review…

As usual, Agents of SHIELD hit us with a number of mysteries that hopefully will be answered sooner rather than later.

Jul 17, 2018 | Rating: 3.5/5 | Full Review…

The progress [Jemma and Fitz] have made throughout the show, but limited to just Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 is astonishing.

Jun 29, 2018 | Rating: 4.8/5 | Full Review…

Given her new abilities and her new life, it's understandable that Skye would want to embrace a new identity.

Jun 21, 2018 | Rating: 3.5/5 | Full Review…

Season 3 was spectacular by most metrics, from a series growing by leaps and bounds each year, but there are definitely a few heights beyond outer space it could stand to reach.

Jun 19, 2018 | Full Review…

The season where everything is shiny and new, from Daisy's name to Coulson's hand to Fitz's reemergence of courage.

Nov 12, 2018 | Full Review…

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at this point is just focused on being as entertaining as possible, and it worked for me.

Marvel's Agents of SHIELD kicked off their third season with a bang in tonight's great opener Laws of Nature.

Sep 30, 2015 | Full Review…

There's an entire galaxy of threats out there, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has never been better equipped to explore it.

Sep 30, 2015 | Full Review…

In addition to being a thrilling experience that's truly laying every last card on the table, the new season of S.H.I.E.L.D. also has the largest amount of heart seen from the show to date.

New places and threats. It is still great fun.
  • Sep 20, 2019
    Una excelente, serie
  • Sep 06, 2019
The perfect conclusion for the previous seasons. Hail HYDRA!
  • Aug 24, 2019
I really love that Agents of SHIELD manages to not just be filler between Marvel films. This season was very solid - jam-packed with good action, a lot less stretched out plot points, and formidable baddies. I also appreciate that they aren't overly precious about exiting characters when it helps the story. Gemma's story this season was my favourite and the finale was killer (as usual)!
  • Jul 31, 2019
This was the continuation and wrap up of the main storylines of season 2, so basically the same rating. As with all seasons, the weakest point is Skye/Daisy.
  • Jul 18, 2019
Great season good way to bring in HIVE
  • Jul 06, 2019
I didn't like this season all that much. It did take the Inhumans storyline to a new level with the villain, but I felt like it was just too long. Stuff keeps going wrong, and it feels unnecessarily stretched out. The rating surprises me, so maybe I'm just different here. It's not bad at all, I just prefer other seasons more.

Agents Of Shield Season 3 Review Episode 1 - Nothing special, but definitely not bad. 7/10 Episode 2 - A very well put together episode. 8/10 Episode 3 - Not quite the standard I have come to expect from this show, but still not the worst episode of the series. 8/10 Episode 4 - Another interesting episode. 9/10 Episode 5 - The first time in this show where my favorite episode of a season was one of the first in the season. This episode is so different from the others that it's almost impossible to tell what show it's from. 10/10 Episode 6 -A gritty and well told story of redemption. 10/10 Episode 7 - Entertaining from beginning to end with great moments of emotional value used to explain the twist from the previous episode, even if it does feel a little rushed. 9/10 Episode 8 - Every moment is timed perfectly, resulting in another perfect episode. 10/10 Episode 9 - This episode pushes Coulson to his lowest point, Ward to his highest point and both of them to their darkest point flawlessly. 10/10 Episode 10 - I don't know what I just witnessed, but I know I freaking loved it. 10/10 Episode 11 - While a generally important episode for the series, it's also a little boring, despite having plenty of good moments. 7/10 Episode 12 - While not free of all entertaining qualities ever, it feels more like a setup to episode 13 as opposed to leaving its own impact on the season. 7/10 Episode 13 - Proof that this show can actually make you feel something. 10/10 Episode 14 - What starts off as your typical episode somehow turns into a legitimately epic survival story themed around a character we know and love and a character we've never met before. 9/10 Episode 15 - To say what makes it so great would honestly ruin the experience of watching it. 10/10 Episode 16 - Rather than giving you every answer, this episode leaves you as the viewer to figure out its sensible logic by yourself, thus providing an enlightening experience. 10/10 Episode 17 - The definition of awesome. Literally every scene has either a kickass fight scene or a great character moment packed into it affectively. 10/10 Episode 18 - This episode felt weird, which was sort of a good thing and sort of an "eh" thing. It simply didn't live up to the five episode streak of great episodes before it. 7/10 Episode 19 - While the episode's concept might look pretty bad on paper, it proves to be rather affective when brought to life. 9/10 Episode 20 - Not quite as ingenious as episode 15, but not that far off either. 10/10 Episode 21 - This episode has more key things happen in it then the first five episodes combined, and yet nothing feels forced or just crammed in there. 10/10 Episode 22 - This season finale manages to leave the series at a point where if it had ended before season 4 could start, it would be fine, but if it kept going, it would be just as good. 10/10

Meh its okay the writing is bad and the effects are weak but Clarke Gregg and Chloe Bennet are really good.
  • May 05, 2019
Hive's powers are confusing, and I didn't like who they killed at the end of the season, but other than that, the season is perfect
