Please do yourself a favor a seek out the brilliant 1979 movie. A gem of the Australian New Wave cinema. See more Paige D @RT47928510 Sep 18, 2026 This series puts a fresh and modern spin on the 1901 story, however, there is a difference between wanting independence and freedom and being selfish and self serving and they absolutely portrayed the character as such. I was hoping to see growth in her and found at the end that really she hadn’t grown at all as a person and slapped characters in the face with her pure need to satisfy herself. I’m not saying that we should do things that don’t serve us or lay down our selves totally for others, but there is a balance. She strung far to many characters on just to fail them in the end. Misstep for me. See more Chelle H @RT77595355 Sep 16, 2026 I started watching this and I wasn't sure about it at first because the main lead has a very loud personality but I watched it to the end. I found this series to be an utter let down. They throw you into it with several different romantic interests and everything twists and turns into something else. The main lead leaves a string of heartbreak just to deny love at the very end. I like romance and women's independence but this series left nothing to be desired for me. In fact I made it a point to come here and write this review. So for me, this series was not one I would recommend or ever watch again. See more C.
