Against all odds, Monarch continues to pack a striking gut-punch of action-drama by embracing its Legacy of Monsters' talent and leading with a cast of rich and complex characters.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters roars back with a Kong-sized, action-packed return to the MonsterVerse -- even if its human drama doesn’t always keep up with the mayhem.

The fleshing out of the MonsterVerse continues to fail to make most of its human characters interesting, but scrapes by on the outsize thrills of its Titanic action. Go to Full Review

May not reach the emotional heights of Toho’s superb “Godzilla Minus One” (2023), but it comes closer than any Monsterverse entry so far. Go to Full Review

If you love Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and other kaiju monster flicks, but have yet to check out Apple’s modern take on the genre, now is the time to start. Go to Full Review

Viewers who came to the series expecting little more than Godzilla spectacle and were won over by its character work and emotional resonance may find themselves drifting away this time around. Go to Full Review

While the tried-and-tested kaiju-cinema formula of reducing the scale of kaiju confrontations to partial glimpses preserves their big-screen aura, it often ends up limiting their narrative function within the series. Go to Full Review

I’m really not the target audience for this show, but for all its faults "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" season 2 did interest me enough to see it through to the end and still have some interest in seeing where a few of these characters go... Go to Full Review

F F @RT33363327 10h As I said for previous season, this series is good for sitting down, watching, and enjoying, a nice story about monster-hunting organizations. This season we got some great monster scenes, fights, and all that talking about monsters. Maybe at times those emotions and family relationships and problems are unnecessary and kinda boring, but it's okay. I would like to see even more Monarch or Apex in action, more 'politicking,' - this is just my opinion. All in all, this series is good and I can see it getting more than 3 seasons if the creators stay creative. See more A S @Waaromzomoeilijk 1d I really enjoyed the visual effects of this serie. But extensive emphasis on the interpersonal relationships between characters makes the series boring. See more Neal L @Nealrlincoln 1d 1st season was much better! This 2nd season just turned in to a long soap opera of family strife and missed chances, and no real Titan input. Very disappointing! See more Hampton L @Precirsertogreatness 2d I binge watched the entire series. I only wish I would’ve begun sooner! Such a treat to finally see something that pays attention to detail and tries to be more than flashy effects and loud noises. See more Azariah W @RT49748282 6d The show does a great job connecting the MonsterVerse films without feeling like homework. You can enjoy it whether you’ve seen every movie or only know the basics about Godzilla. It expands the universe naturally instead of constantly winking at the audience with references. See more Romeo B @Bigr55 6d I think this show will age very well because it’s more interested in atmosphere and character than short-term hype. It’s thoughtful science fiction wrapped inside a monster epic, and I respect it a lot for that. See more Read all reviews
