This revamped incarnation of the "My Little Pony" franchise not only appeals to the little girls that the toy line is primarily marketed to, but has drawn a cult following of teenagers, self-proclaimed "geeks," and even adults that remember the TV series, specials and films dating back to the 1980s. In this series, Princess Celestia sends her star pupil, the bookish unicorn Twilight Sparkle, to Ponyville to improve her socialization skills. Twilight quickly makes five new four-legged friends: Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity. Each instilled with the respective spirits of magic, honesty, loyalty, laughter, kindness and generosity, the animals learn that by working together they can achieve the most important element of all: harmony. That ultimate underlying message may sound corny as all get-out, but the snappy dialogue and expressive animation make the treacle surprisingly palatable.

[My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic] got a lot of great lessons to teach kids, but also to teach adults to be nice to one another. Go to Full Review

There are many great shows that have permeated the pop culture sphere, and have the devotion of adults and children, but none can claim quite the impact as this one. Go to Full Review

Other than that shoehorned framing device, most of the stories operate on a far smaller scale, and a far more satisfying one, all while opening up the show's world in surprising ways. Go to Full Review

Carter D Dec 5 10/10 I like to glaze the heck out of this show. See more Christian V 10/03/2024 The stupidest cartoon I’ve seen in my entire life. Everything about this show is wrong, very, very, very wrong. It only shows that all they care about is the stupid friendship and not the reality. The worst of all, it totally endure the adult fans that they adore this lazy story horse crap. I hate that show so much!!! See more Noe G 07/28/2024 My Little Pony friendship is magic season 1 is an amazing season and my rating is a 10/10 See more Kapi @KapiTM 06/19/2024 A somewhat decent opener followed by constant mediocrisy and awkward dialogue, alongside some of the WORST episodes of the series in-between Faust's vision sure was interesting See more Kris A 12/20/2022 Awesome show! Fun for girls AND boys of all ages! Yes even boys can get some fun out of it. It's THAT good for something My Little Pony related. A great accomplishment for Lauren Faust (Craig McCracken's (creator of The Powerpuff Girls) wife) and other members of The Powerpuff Girls team and thank you for bringing this show to life Lauren Faust! See more 02/10/2022 A good start to a good series. The characters were well introduced, the world kept building step by step and you really worked towards the finale over several episodes. Compared to later seasons, the first season is much better oriented towards small children. But she's also had magical moments. The lessons are very valuable, especially for children. But many older people could also be inspired by it. See more Read all reviews
