The themes of survival and vengeance dominate, but Braga's character makes it interesting.

The influence of new showrunner Natalie Chaidez (a veteran of In Plain Sight and 12 Monkeys) can be seen in the more agile pacing steering its first two episodes.

Audience Reviews for Queen of the South: Season 2

A bit soapy and sometimes suffers from the old lazy writers' trick of completely changing character personalities and/or wiping character memories between episodes in order to make plots work, but overall this is a great show. It's heaps of fun. It has an entertaining story and mostly interesting and likeable characters. Alice Braga is fantastic as Teresa, and her story is done very well. She really has to *fight* for everything, and never gets anything easy. I definitely recommend a watch.

Season two is just as interesting as season one. The character development is deep and very relatable. The twists are never ending keeping you hooked all the way.

Felizmente, a série conseguiu elevar a fasquia e trouxe-nos mais casos que nos deixaram com o coração nas mãos, na boca... em todo o lado possível.

Queen of the South Season 2 is what one gets when a good idea runs up against lack of imagination and terrible writing.

mostly just wanna rate this show since few have as a very intriguing watchable albeit flawed series about the madness of the border drug trade whatever its flaws it succeeds in many ways from quality filmmaking and good acting to some researched plots details and entanglements...while not perfect its both engaging and intriguing as well as entertaining...
