The Rader family looks like your average middle-class American clan. Paul Rader and his wife Lily have three children -- teenagers Henry and Hannah, and 8-year-old Tommy. While those are their real names, they're actually struggling to blend into a new life in Bridgewater, Iowa, using secret identities. They've been on the run ever since Paul was unjustly accused of a heinous crime. Adding to the danger, the real killer is now threatening the lives of Paul and Lily's children. While Paul works to protect his loved ones -- and uncover evidence that will clear his name -- he lives with the daily fear that someone will accidentally reveal the family's secrets.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Its on-the-run premise isn't new, but Runaway engages with claustrophobic tension and a convincing set of characters.

Minor but deftly done, "Runaway" keeps the screws of tension tightly wound but also finds time to give us believable portraits of the Raders and their justifiable sense of peril. Go to Full Review

You'll Like It If: You're nostalgic for "The Fugitive," a fan of the dryly charismatic [Donnie] Wahlberg and enjoy watching the lies people think up on the run to escape the authorities. Go to Full Review

Espousing a family-that-flees-together-stays-together philosophy, The CW's new family-of-fugitives drama "Runaway" is passable entertainment. Go to Full Review

Paul J @Jobas375 Jan 3 This is quite a good show the only part lacking is the D.E.I. cops absolutely terrible choice of actors such a shame but unfortunately Netflix went down that road See more steve d @RT35616104 07/27/2020 A show that died a quick death and had a lot of potential. The cast was strong and this Fugitive with a family story was really interesting. See more Read all reviews
