Kind of like what happened to Family guy and the Simpsons, new ones just aren't funny like the old ones. Fingers crossed for next season. Around season 16 Matt and Trey had clearly gotten bored and wanted to experiment with serialized seasons. They f'ed up at the first hurdle however by attempting to parody 2015-16 Trump with Mr. Garrison, not expecting in a million years that Trump would actually win. That completely screwed up the structure of the show for years. Finally heading into season 27 they finally figured out how to do Trump. They retconned Garrison back where he was (great move) and then made Trump their classic Saddam caricature. If it had been used sparingly it could have worked, but they clearly had a lot of pent up feelings about Trump they wanted to get out and as a result they jumped the shark by going full blown 2017 SNL. It's sad to see such talented, creative individuals devolve into this. But at least we have 16 great seasons of South Park we can still watch! See more James H @Jmh129 Jan 18 I'm a lifetime fan. Watched every episode of every season several times over. Which is why it pains me to say that this years season 27 & 28 are both awful. The were moments of potential and snippets of great content, but every episode was loudly deow wd out bw the same crude hyper-partisan storyline (not that political) with littlw attempt at any meaningful satire. Kind of reminded me a bit of the last season of the Game of Thrones, though less attempt was flesh out anything resembling a plot. But Paramount+ pays the bills. See more Ernesto B @Ernie2025 Jan 9 I have been watching South Park for years, and until recently (Season 28), I would whole heartedly agree that it is not good at all. The jokes are repitive, overused, and frankly those of a child. Subject? The same in every episode, speaking about politics, frankly annoying. The release of episodes are too long! It makes it seem that the producers are looking to drag the viewers, not realizing people are losing interest waiting. I am disappointed that it has gotten to this point, money hungry corporation interests has brought my childhood memory show to the very bottom.
