It has everything the discerning Trekkie could want. Epic interstellar battles, dodgy yellow knitwear and alien races with pointy plastic ears that look like they might go warp factor nine near an open flame.

It’s got the balance of episodic storytelling and a continuing narrative. But the gimmicky episodes aren’t the only highlights. They’ve given us such lovely characters, played by these compelling actors who just capture the screen.

This season is when mildly promising modern Star Trek devolves into the same modern slop that pervades all modern trek. Too many gimmicky episodes instead of doing traditional Trek episodes. There are too many unearned moments of humor and emotional content between characters that hasn't been rightfully developed. If you're looking for cringe star trek, this is it.

Watching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3. I put off watching it because I heard it was bad. But this is fantastic. Much better than season 2.

The special effects are fine…the writing, however, is abysmal. Should have spent more money on the scripts …special effects without a decent script is a waste. Get rid of the hacks writing the teleplays and hire some sci fi writers like the original ST did.
