Tv Season Info

A starship is stranded in the uncharted Delta Quadrant in this fourth 'Star Trek' series, the first to feature a female captain. Here, the crew grudgingly teams with Maquis rebels to try to return to Earth after Voyager is hurtled 70,000 light-years from Federation space. The show's two-hour premiere coincided with the UPN network's launch. Genevieve Bujold was originally cast as Janeway, but was replaced by Kate Mulgrew after only a few days of filming.

This two-parter leaves the Voyager crew in dire peril but also leaves the show in good shape to start its sixth season in the fall.

The Fight is an excellent example of how bad Voyager could get when the writers had to reach deep into the Star Trek playbook.

Admittedly bleak, [the episode Course: Oblivion] explores concepts of identity, sentience, and legacy with a grim pragmatism that's rare for Voyager, and even for Star Trek. as a whole.

Audience Reviews for Star Trek: Voyager: Season 5

The Jeri Ryan revival of Star Trek: Voyager continues into Season 5 with new and exciting adventures. Featuring such thrilling episodes as "Dark Victory," "Relativity," and "Equinox," the show really ups the action. Yet the character episodes, such as "Once Upon A Time," "Someone To Watch Over Me," and "Course: Oblivion," are equally as powerful. Additionally, a couple of interesting guest stars beam aboard; including Lori Petty, Jason Alexander, and John Savage. Plus, TNG cast member LeVar Burton makes a cameo. Full of thrills, the rising tide created by Jeri Ryan proves to have staying power into Season 5 of Star Trek: Voyager.
