For an anthology, Star Wars: Visions is remarkably consistent in its quality. There are no flat-out bad episodes in the bunch, though some are stronger than others. Go to Full Review

Happily, this new series of 15- to 20-minute animated shorts produced by some of Japan's most respected anime studios is a lot more interesting than your typical blandly stylised Star Wars animation. Go to Full Review

That "Star Wars: Visions" is, finally, more of a pleasant diversion than a really fulfilling experience isn't a factor of running time or talent. Go to Full Review

Given the opportunity to create a Star Wars story, many of the studios took the chance to again smash Jedi and Sith against each other with varying degrees of success, but by the end, I was begging to see anything willing to deviate from this formula. Go to Full Review

Star Wars lends itself quite easily to a magical mystery tour of anime, a medium which affords a lot of freedom to experiment with form, style, and tone. Go to Full Review

While most of the stories boil down to slightly different lightsaber duels, the unique visual style of each story that feels like a natural fit for Star Wars manages to transcend the flat storytelling. Go to Full Review

Koen H @Hilveuh Nov 27 Pretty decent.. Not all episodes were as good.. but all in all a fun watch and interesting extension of the SW universe See more Mate P @matepolcz Oct 31 Star Wars: Visions volume 1 is mixed. There are episodes that are among my favourite Star Wars stories, but this one has my least favourites too. The highs are extremely high, but the lows are really low. Some of these stories deserve their own fleshed out universes. The cinematography is the element that was at least pretty good in all of the episodes. Anime is not my thing, so I didn't love the modern stuff. On the other hand I adored the old school animation, that resembles hand drawing and stop motion. The casting is amazing, I watched the English version and I was surprised by some of the big names. The score is also something I loved in most shorts. My favourite ones are The Village Bride and The Ninth Jedi. See more Daniel M @Gatefatherkoki Oct 29 Jadi always win. As a long time star wars fan, this was actually quite refreshing to watch. The animation was incredible. Overall I loved this show and I hope more things like it come out. (ENGLISH) The best thing about Star Wars: Visions is how boldly it steps away from the usual formula. Instead of retracing familiar paths, it dives headfirst into telling stories from new angles, with complete creative freedom. Each episode is a small animated capsule filled with personality, style, and risk. Watching how different studios interpret the Force, the Sith, or the Jedi—each from their own cultural background—is not only refreshing, it feels essential to keeping the franchise alive. The animation is stunning throughout: from clean, elegant lines to the wildest designs, everything stands out. Not every chapter lands equally well, but even the weakest ones include strong moments and striking visuals. As a whole, this is an anthology that celebrates creative freedom and love for a galaxy that still has so much more to offer beyond canon. Visions is not just a breath of fresh air; it’s a love letter to the saga, told from corners of the world that rarely get a voice in productions of this scale. See more Read all reviews
