The show probably should have hung up its hat a season or two earlier—but it’s never easy to say goodbye, a sentiment that the Stranger Things finale ultimately proved. Go to Full Review

If nothing else, Stranger Things’ operatic exit serves as a reminder familiarity needn’t be a bad thing when executed with such earnest conviction, and that each generation needs -- even deserves -- its own band of heroic nerds to root for. Go to Full Review

No matter how weak the dialogue or how many plot holes you encounter, you’ll always go back for more. This is why it’s so disappointing that the show never quite delivers on its promises. Go to Full Review

Justin T @RT08580778 12h The pace of the first episode is so fast. Zero subtlety. It’s like only the hardest core TikTok addicts could enjoy the first episode but by the end it was so slow, repetitive and drawn out, they just kept doing the same thing. The characters are caricatures now. They looked ten years too old and like they've had a hard life. It’s now overacted, overproduced, overwritten, overlit, overused CGI (admittedly the CGI is really good). Why is the army in the upside down? It's too far from the original point of the series. There are some good moments but not enough. It’s just gotten too grand and is trying to overdeliver. They spend far too long in the upside down, too many characters, too unfocused. I appreciate that we see how the story ends and I actually liked bits of the finale and the story but it was too long and overly sentimental. See more Ellie P @ellienightingale 2d One of the greatest travesties in recent TV history. A total lack of respect towards the financial resources and labor provided to create this season. Lazy, unambitious, shallow writing that swiftly undoes the potential of previous seasons' stories. One of the most feared villains was completely defanged. The relationships between characters were superficial and shadows of what they used to be. Just not scary at all. Absolutely no stakes. Did not feel like an inter dimensional apocalypse at all. A finale so bad people thought it was fake. Ugly cinematography, lacklustre acting, paper thin script with the thematic depth of a kiddie pool. Final battle pulled straight out of a Marvel movie reject, completely divorced from the sci-fi psychological mystery horror that defined the first seasons. LGBT characters done especially dirty, one of the worst coming out scenes of all time, shameless and mocking queer bait, Eleven's end - misogynistic and cruel. Insane waste of potential. See more Desi H. @desiheart 6d Stranger Things will always hold a special place in my heart. However, even my rose colored glasses cannot excuse what the Duffer Brothers did to this show in the last season. There are too many plot holes to name, scenes that make no sense (looking at you hospital laundry room scene), and the most questionable character performances we have seen so far (looking at you Max, Dustin, and Steve). All that being said, I have to give props to the writers for their attempt at an amazing coming out scene for Will; I only wish it hadn’t been shoe-horned in to a moment in the story that left it feeling so out of place that I only felt something because I had waited so long for that payoff. See more Brady S. @Brady_sizemore1316 May 10 Stranger Things 5 is an amazing season. People were just expecting a lot more but I got all I needed to end this story. They ended it very well. I feel like people won’t like it no matter what because they don’t want it to end. All the episodes were good. It’s very underrated. It’s a 10/10! See more Emerson H. @movielover9 May 9 Season 5 was disappointing, but I still enjoyed it, 4th in my ranking of the seasons. There is a few great episode sin here, but eh finale is my all time favorite episode of the series, it is AMAZING! Duffer bros, y’all made something special, and I thank you. Can’t wait to see what you do next, season 5- 8/10, finale -10/10, show overall-11/10 See more Ava D. @avaduha May 8 Last episode highkey ruins a lot but the rest of the show was awesome.
