When Lou Simms starts her internship at Fountain Pictures she seems like a naïve Hollywood newcomer, awestruck by the studio's notorious CEO, Joyce Holt. Lou soon proves herself indispensable to Joyce, who's not only trying to out-maneuver her predatory dinosaur of a boss, but to have a baby after years of trying. In truth, Lou has done extensive research on Joyce and landing this internship was no happy accident. As Lou's obsession grows, she will do anything to get close to her idol, even kill.

The setting isn’t what you’d call sudsy, but imagine a thin sheen of melodrama with lurid notes and you’ve more or less got it... Some of the characterisations might be unconvincing, but it’s still a perfectly satisfactory mini-binge. Go to Full Review

It’s entertaining. It could have been much more. Go to Full Review

There’s certainly work to be done excavating the way bosses and assistants engage with one another. But of all the things this show could say about power, simply saying that it’s dangerous isn’t good enough. Go to Full Review

Stylish, edgy, quite deliberately art directed, but beautifully acted. It’s also disappointingly predictable. It’s paced at a jagged and breakneck speed that leaves very little time to empathize with any of its deeply damaged characters. Go to Full Review

Sharks' power play melodrama works because of how efficiently the series barrels through the plot development and twists. Go to Full Review

Elizabeth M Oct 17 Can they please make another season like please!!!! Left me on a major cliffhanger like literally See more Lachon J 01/14/2025 This show should have had more seasons. I love the fact Kiernan Shipka was casted. This is a very different role for her. See more Andrei D 11/07/2024 Feels cut short and the characters are mostly forced to behave with no space to move organically through their narratives See more Sheri T 12/02/2023 I loved it. Wish the episodes were longer. Hopefully renewed for second season. See more Sylvia W @Sylvia59 04/15/2023 As I am an"Hollywood hills and Film business" Addict I really enjoyed this one. Kruger and Shipka are very believable in their Roles...,the Scenery is great. The Episodes could have last longer and maybe be told in 4 Episodes instead of 6. See more Ben H 11/06/2022 Oddly satisfying and super sexual. Swimming with sharks is I presume a limited series? that is around 6 short episodes that kind of just work. It is a bit choppy and doesn't necessarily flow episode to episode but the story is dark and fun to watch and just the right amount of twisted See more Read all reviews
