Dr. May Foster, a marital therapist, counsels patients grappling with issues of intimacy and commitment. Among those seeking help are David, a doting husband and father but, at 40, someone who is having trouble enjoying sexual intimacy with his wife, Katie, a former advertising executive; Carolyn Stenton, a high-powered attorney, who yearns to have a child with her hushand, Palek, who is struggling with major "daddy issues" of his own; and Hugo, whose engagement to girlfriend Jamie may be derailed unless he can overcome his misgivings about a lifetime of monogamy.
