Judy Berman TIME Magazine 12/05/2022
Sohla El-Waylly is the show's MVP, dispensing blunt, pithy, yet never nasty feedback that reflects her own high culinary standards rather than any desire to humiliate the lovable cast. Go to Full Review

There are sweet stories every episode, sweet music while everyone cooks, sweet hugs when anyone succeeds, and sweet hugs also when anyone doesn’t meet the mark. Go to Full Review
Caroline Framke Variety 11/10/2022
This gentle twist on a Top Chef formula doesn’t exactly bring the drama -- but for those craving something with less bite, The Big Brunch should prove harder to resist than that one last mimosa. Go to Full Review

The Big Brunch is a perfectly entertaining cooking competition show. It’s simple and straightforward with one central theme and few gimmicks beyond it. Go to Full Review
Savannah Walsh Vanity Fair 12/22/2022
Levy’s “nothing should be negative, everything should be supportive” mantra could’ve flamed out in another year. But in 2022, it was a welcome flavor. Go to Full Review

The show is so much fun and it’s clear the contestants are having fun whether they’re winning or not. Go to Full Review

Mynde M @RT63874955 01/20/2023 Finally a cooking show about cooking! So refreshing to have an evenly paced, gentle & positive presentation. Other cooking shows have saturated the market to the point that viewers have been driven away by the thousands. Hopefully THIS show will maintain its integrity, purpose & watchability. One draw back is the no editing of cuss words, which dampens the appeal for young audiences. I'm pretty sure the host bills the show as "family friendly"?! Or have I misinterpreted the format? See more Dane H @RT27188247 12/30/2022 For a competition show, I've certainly never seen better. It has a lot of heart, and the sense of camaraderie among the contestants feels genuine and meaningful. I've also never been so inspired to cook -- some of the dishes are absolute spectacles, demanding your attention and wanting. See more superfrank c @SuperFrank 12/29/2022 A fun experience filled with passion and caring. I think this show will grow into a classic if allowed. See more dani m @matyd 12/21/2022 I love this show! In other cooking shows, the judges are mean and the contestants are needlessly cutthroat (if I never again hear another reality tv contestant say 'I'm not here to make friends', it will still be to soon!). Here, the criticisms are on point and constructive but never mean. The judges are encouraging to all the contestants like in the Great Baking Show, but with a prize that truly is life changing. It makes for compelling television without the bile! I hope they have more seasons! See more Jen K @RT40186767 12/10/2022 What a fantastic show! The concept is so refreshing and leaves you cheering on all the chefs which must have made it hard at elimination time. The combination of Will, Sohla and Dan was perfect: their banter and humour kept me glued to every episode. There was never a ‘cheesy' moment but also never an episode I did not seriously tear up. Pure Dan Levy genius. Cannot wait for the next season! See more Cuan Chai M @cuanchai 12/06/2022 If you have a penchant for excessively pretentious shows, then this one is tailored to your taste. However, I must note that it lacked entertainment value and occasionally displayed a lack of respect towards the chefs involved. See more Read all reviews
