The past and present clash and collide in various ways, making the series' ever-winding story all the more complex. But inside that complexity is a story that, ultimately, didn't hook me as much as I wanted. Go to Full Review

While there are moments of intensity, visually striking sequences and some well-crafted suspense, the series ultimately lands in a place that feels safe, expected and not quite as memorable as it could have been. Go to Full Review

The Crystal Cuckoo is a solid mystery thriller that isn’t trying to distract viewers with red herrings. We hope that it connects its various mysteries together sooner rather than later, though. Go to Full Review

Although it draws upon recognizable plot twists, it maintains a clear purpose: to show how a town managed its own version of the truth to avoid facing its consequences. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Despite maintaining some urgency through pursuit and some decent intrigue spread across episodes, this ends in a safe and expected manner, leaving us with something just kind of there rather than memorable. Go to Full Review

The Crystal Cuckoo’s attempts at evoking some sense of complexity are limited to its narrative because visual storytelling is something that "noobs" care about. Go to Full Review

Torben E @Torben Apr 11 It's definitely worth a watch, especially if you like mysteries and are in need of fresh faces and a nice scenery. It's also a slow burn; one that doesn't need a red herring in every second episode. I liked that. The story also unfolds within two separate timelines at the same time and that kept things interesting. All in all a decent series about disappearances and how relationships affect our lives and decisions. Catalina Sopelana was very good as leading actress and the whole supporting cast did also a very decent job. Here and there the whole thing felt a bit far-fetched and after episode four the series lost a good part of its suspense factor but I nevertheless enjoyed the series in general and had a good time with it. I know Spanish movies and shows are so patriarchal but this is just ridiculous…. See more Mary O. @MaryOliver Nov 15 Slow moving and lack of connection between characters.
