Despite its more modern look, “The Forsytes” is perfectly paced and paints a majestic portrait of a family standing on the cusp of change. Go to Full Review

There’s a weird disconnect between the show’s pleasantly languid visual feel and its characters’ emotions. It muddies where almost everyone stands in relation to each other. Go to Full Review

Looks great, less filling than earlier treatments. Go to Full Review

In the genre of late-Victorian family dramas, The Forsytes takes a cozier approach to the marriage mania and dynasty-building. Go to Full Review

Very soapy but if you like Downton Abbey you'll probably like this show Go to Full Review

The Forsytes might be a little bit more sudsy than classic takes on the Saga, but it’s still incredibly well-acted and gorgeous to behold. Go to Full Review

C C @FairandHonest 5d Wow. As they say 'Give me something for the cringe and let me die.' This makes the 2002 version seem like Shakespeare. It's so corny and melodramatic that it feels like a parody. The writing is what I'd imagine you'd get if a 12 year old had read the books and then dictated the screenplay. And how can I say this nicely? The acting is not good, but they do seem like they're really trying. Bless all their hearts. See more cathleen M. @CathM Apr 25 Awful. Skip it and watch the 2002 version, better in every way. See more dawna H @RT39886406 Apr 20 This is no Downton Abbey. The acting is beyond bad. The pacing of dialogue between characters is hard to watch. The writing is dreadful. It's like watching Dynasty in Victorian times, but not as good. So disappointed. Oh, and lastly, the actor who plays the stepdaughter is by far the worst actor to have ever acted in a Masterpiece Theatre production. She is beyond annoying to watch. See more Pam E @Yourmom2300 Mar 30 I think the Frances-Jolyon casting missed the mark as there is zero chemistry between them. Way too many ‘Jolyon staring into space’ shots, they’ve made him too moody with no real personality except ennui. And why is he the only one never wearing a tie at work? Wish it was better. See more Arwen K @RT18915758 Mar 30 This is one dimensional drivel. The acting is sub par, the pacing is awful, the music score is atrocious and please tell me what in the world is up with the Bridgerton narration? Whoever is responsible for this should be fired. Don’t bother with this. Just watch the series from the 2000s. Far superior. See more Jon E. @jes30 Mar 30 Wow what a dud. I cannot believe with this level of money put into this they couldn’t get better writers and directors. A true disappointment. Almost like it’s going to erupt into a SNL comedy skit at any moment it’s so bad. See more Read all reviews
