Twelve amateur bakers compete against each other to win the title of Greatest British Baker. Each round sees an aspiring baker eliminated, until finally the winner is selected from the remaining contestants. Their skills on baking essentials like cakes, breads, pastries and desserts are tested in each round, and the difficulty increases as the competition unfolds. The judges are set to taste all the goods created carefully by the contestants, and the audience is able to follow all the trials and tribulations with a wholesome twist.

Cdee s @calliekoo Aug 6 The first couple of seasons were rather boring due to them giving u a history lesson about the food. It took away from viewing their bakes. After they stopped doing it after so many seasons...Mel and Sue got out of hand with their antics...especially Sue...she was rather obnoxious, leaned on a contestants dough that he needed to have rise....she eats as much as she can and it shows each week because u can see the weight coming on. Mel wasn't as bad but was a bit annoying. Sue also looked rather unkept. The problem I have seen with this show because I watch it every year are the hosts they choose. Noel is ok but a little hard to take at times. Other hosts that are no more needed to leave.
