While thankfully more innocent than say the CW's sexed-up Nancy Drew and Riverdale adaptations, the show still wildly shifts in tone, seemingly caught in between a kids' detective show and something much darker. Go to Full Review

It could use some more twists and turns, and maybe a few additional wisecracks; nevertheless, in this new series, The Hardy Boys' magnetic appeal is intact. Go to Full Review

There are so many shows The Hardy Boys is trying to be, from Supernatural to Stranger Things to Riverdale, and it succeeds at emulating none of them. Go to Full Review

The Hardy Boys would have deeply benefitted from a more surprising and complex conclusion, but the journey itself is the perfect deliverance of eerie nostalgia and fun moving puzzle pieces for an audience to solve. Go to Full Review

The Hardy Boys has a lot of strong elements that it never makes full use of it. But if you can suspend your disbelief and don't mind the slow pace, you might be able to enjoy its cinematic B-level mystery. Go to Full Review

C M @RT99857157 Oct 25 Drab, slow, and somewhat predictable, with a "16-year-old" who looks 25, because the actor is, and way too much synth music. It's not terrible; it's just not good. It lacks the element that makes other shows with kids front-and-center work -- fun. That said, the acting is solid, there are some clever moments, and it's family friendly. I still feel there's better fare out there that fits these parameters. I have no idea if this series follows Hardy Boys lore since I never read the books. Overall... meh. See more Isaac P @ReelMovieReviews 04/08/2025 I love this first season of the Hulu adaptation! It came during quarantine. (a.k.a. at the right time I needed a binge able show!) and boy did it deliver! Before this I was not a Hardy Boys fan, but this show is a perfect delve into that world in a more serious way and in a darker tone, which was the right choice in my opinion. It stood out against the other media that Hardy Boys had in the past been stuck to. A really well done adaptation. Really good, definitely recommend it. See more Nikolaos K @RT79327086 09/05/2023 Amazing tv show that keeps you on you edge. The plot is so interactive yet the director keeps every plot point well connected. See more C C @RT77537473 08/19/2023 Where to start? How about the seriousness depicted somewhat Sherlock Holmes without the the great acting of DRJ. Again another TV series that gets ruined so different from the books. Plus it suppose to be for a young audience right? Why push that hidden agenda? Everyone tries too hard. See more Patrick H @RT32507586 07/30/2023 This Canadian constant grey weather damages this show—it feels phoned in from Mars. While this may delight Elon, it's horrifically constant and the drab sepia tones are depressing and very distracting. I need some blue sky on some Hardy Boys native Long Island beaches please! Superman and Lois has the same cinema photographic failure. Can't the directors see this? Smallville avoided this problem —so it can be done! Other than that the show feels like it's on its way to something quite strong with the brothers' flashlight-ed sense of adventure intact. The larger age gap between Frank and Joe is kind of an interesting spin. More Hardy Boys, less Riverdale, an American climate, and I'll be back! See more Jeremy F @RT74484932 04/12/2023 I really loved this show. Writing is pretty good and the casting was great. A lot of fun. See more Read all reviews
