Justifies itself as an examination of how much can go right in your life if you have enough power, business connections, money and private travel arrangements. Go to Full Review

[It] stretches its story over a longer playing time than is really justified. But this show at least has exotic locations, genuine scandal, royalty, wealthy people behaving very badly -- and an unexpected sting in the tail that makes it all worthwhile. Go to Full Review

Once you get past the fact that the docuseries seems to be about a petty dispute between two privileged parties, The King Who Never Was becomes a fascinating look at a man whose life never really recovered after his destiny was derailed when he was a kid. Go to Full Review

The King Who Never Was is more interested in celebrity than the victim and rarely takes a critical eye on the alleged crime. Go to Full Review

Amber P @RT77358726 07/05/2023 This is really brilliant. Tragic, disgusting and enraging but just so invigorating to see these entitled scumbags globally outted. I don't think I've ever seen such a detailed account of how power and wealth have allowed generations of sociopaths to get away with murder. And I love it also coming from a director with her own royal links but being on the right side of history. Well done to both Birgit Hamer the sister who never gave up on justice for her brother, and to Beatrice Borromeo Casiraghi for using her gifts and power to finally give the Hamer family a platform and justice. I hope this becomes watched by as many people as possible...and the questioning of elitism and power is forever under scrutiny. After all, this is just one story in a history of similar cover ups.
