Pete R @Retrospeed 4d Charming, , beautiful to look at , even paced , heartwarming and amusing. A wonderful way to while away the hours See more Michael B @RT47330726 Mar 19 I'm writing this review after watching all 10 seasons of this remarkable series. It's rare to watch a series that spans so many years and we grow and age with the wonderful cast. Beautifully set and photographed on an idyllic beach in Denmark, the series follows the guest's lives from year to year and we experience the ups and downs of their lives, often funny, nostalgic, happy and sad. You will feel many feelings as you watch and become intimately involved in the guest's lives. The soundtrack is perfect, capturing the feelings of the moment perfectly. I have to say there are moments that the music is absolutely beautiful and I find myself wishing it would go on. There's really nothing negative I can say about this show. As in life, you will like and dislike some of the guests, but you will remember them all. Some will come and go and some will be there throughout the series. And what a perfect ending to the series. Bravo to everyone involved in telling this wonderful story. See more bernard l @Bernardo25 Jan 2 I feel like I am the only person in the UK who watches this wonderful series. I have got througn about 7 of the series and still got 3 more to go. It is describe as 'charming' and 'comic' but it is far more that that. You get to know the characters really and really root for them (well there are one ro two baddies as well). The setting is idylic and it is good to see a seaside series based somewhere else than roasting Spain or Italy. It gets serious too as it moves into the period of Denmark under the Nazis. I will be really sad when I finish all 10 seasons of this excellent show See more Marlene M @MJMVB Dec 27 A keen portrayal of contrast of class in 20th century Denmark. It is hilarious and beautifully filmed. See more Joe D @RT14372631 Sep 6 This was recommended to us and we almost passed after 1 1/2 episodes. So glad we stuck with it, as we found ourselves completely captivated by the photography, the story and character development, and the acting! See more Susan R @RT34645712 Aug 16 I absolutely love this programme.I feel as though I know each character and care about them as if they were family. On the surface,it is a lightweight drama but after a couple of episodes you are drawn into the lives and drama of the story.I recommended this to a few people and they have all become totally engrossed.I wish it could never end.
