Fantastic - no idea why they haven't continued it.
I can't believe that Amazon did not renew the series for a third season. The writing and acting for this series is fantastic. Very disappointed in Amazon. I hope another streaming service (Netflix?) picks this show up.
Rating this 5 star in the fleeting hope of a season 3.
But honestly, its worth the stars. For anyone with super hero fatigue its a great satire show, its not quite the level of The Boys but that show isn't satire, this is the light hearted comedy the genre needs, with the right advertising and promotion it can find the audience it needs... Watch it and you'll be advocating for it too.
Mighty insects! Singing lobsters! Suicidal speedboats! If this aint "fun", I don't know what is!
Gets better and better with each episode
too many side stories running, not enough tick
The Tick is the balance in nature we need. It has magically answered the call of destiny to satirize the popular culture of the time. The cartoon series of the 90's countered the popular X-Men and Spider-Man series, and the 2001 TV show appeared a year after the 2000 X-Men movie blockbuster. Now, this Amazon series perfectly balances the Marvel Cinematic Universe barrage of blockbusters. Perfect balance, as all things should be.
Super heroes are great for cinema because they are fantasy. However, the fantasy genre does cause questions as to where fantasy and reality meet. That's where satire comes in, so that we can enjoy the serious themes of the fantasy, while not taking itself too serious so we can laugh at unrealistic elements.
I rarely right reviews, but I am frantically doing so now because I heard the series was cancelled - only shortly after its second season's release! I just the series a few days ago, binge watched it, starting to binge watch online videos about it, and then found it was cancelled! EGAD!! #SaveTheTick
I am so shocked (and totally bummed out) that Amazon cancelled The Tick! The writers, producers, and actors have all done a great job and even though it was a niche market. Five million/episode is not that bad compared to many shows being made today. Also, the Tick was and is still getting a great presence at comic cons.
Character development and the storyline was getting better each episode, and the introduction of a big nemesis, Thrakazog in the final episode was a great cliffhanger that will never be completed. BOOOO to Amazon, the worst cancellation of a quality series since Firefly. #SaveTheTick
Love this series! Hoping Amazon will renew for season 3
Good season but very different feel than season 1. It's darker, way more storylines.
