The pacing, well developed plot and complex characters are a stark contrast to the self-indulgent nature of similar pieces, placing it well atop its class. See more l.d. b @RT99577998 04/16/2020 Set in 1747 in the Flemish region of Aalst. it tells the story of a Robin Hood-esque character, by the name of Jan de Lichte, who fights for the oppressed and downtrodden. This story type and all of its tropes are far from original but they do a good job of cleaning them up and reusing them. So far this show has held my interest. I like the costuming in this show, however; I am not sure how close it is to be correct for the time and place, but it looks superb. Using firearms is over the top, but it does not spoil the show. I will feel it necessary to warn you that most of the nobles and it portrays the bourgeoisie as sex fiends and rapists, not a child or work safe show. I have to say that Netflix has made some fantastic picks on shows they have imported; It is looking like a decent drama. See more 02/28/2020 The show is too vulgar. Priests in animal masks raping young women is too much. I couldn't sleep the night that I watched this show thinking about the priests raping women.
