Ben Dowell The Times (UK) 12/15/2022
2/5
It is painfully slow, the mishmash of RP English with heavy Germanic inflections slightly confusing, and the leaden, on-the-nose dialogue feels at times as if it has been passed through Google Translate. Go to Full Review
Michael Hogan Daily Telegraph (UK) 12/11/2021
4/5
The pace sagged in the middle and the Gothic dream sequences verged on hammy but it was gripping, old-fashioned fun. Go to Full Review
Christopher Stevens Daily Mail (UK) 12/22/2022
4/5

See more D S @RT97023808 02/20/2023 Different. Live that its not in the UK. Love that its not in 1920-1940s as per usual. Love watching the characters evolve See more Patricia T @RT00902444 01/24/2023 This series gets better and better. The bird's-eye view of Vienna in the early 1900s is fascinating, and then you've got the interplay between the two lead actors, who are great fun to watch all by themselves. On top of that unusual mysteries, the foreshadowing what is to come in a couple of decades, all presented at a refreshingly leisurely pace. See more Read all reviews
