Fans of the original series will likely be pleased to see how the new Team Voltron shakes out, as well. I was positively thrilled to see some of the reveals that happen relatively early on.

Season three is easily the most dramatically compelling.

Fantastic world building, heart pumping action, engaging characters, and freakin' Sven? Yeah, I'm happy with this season.

Despite the shorter length, Season 3 manages to cover a great deal of ground, introducing compelling new villains, adding new depth to familiar characters and generally enriching the mythology of this sci-fi universe.

Audience Reviews for Voltron: Legendary Defender: Season 3

The decisions that young Paladins must make makes one want to know more about the series.

There’s enough story and character development to want to know what happens next in the Voltron universe. The animation is neat and clean with a great color palate and just enough Voltron exposition to keep it smooth and seamless. Despite the absence of the obsessive Zarkon, Lotar and his harem of half-breeds twist the plot of this shorter season enough to keep us, the paladins and the Galrah Empire on our toes.

    *admirative silence*

This Season really had some problems. Not properly dealing with the effects of the grief that it put it's new BP in. Poorly handling Shiro's disappearance and subsequent return. Not having a grieving Keith react to an alternate version of the person he was grieving. It was my least favorite Season, and I'm glad the show gets much better in Season 6/7.

This season was brilliant. Lots of character building.

    Still loving this show.

I think Netflix made a mistake in trying to cut the seasons down to 6-7 episodes. Seasons 3-4 together I think make a fine step in the show, but while S3 does introduce us to Lotor and his generals and delves deeper into Keith's character as he's forced to lead in Shiro's absence, it seems like things are finally moving when bam! We get an origin story and then the end of the season.

One of the best seasons ever tbh
