I thought the series wasn’t for me at the episode 2-3 point. However, the last two episodes were phenomenal. The last two episodes are some of the best I’ve watched. The show has nothing to do with what it feels like to be a girl because the show is about a boy. I’m really not sure how the makers missed that one. The very title is misleading and will turn female viewers off when they realize that certain people are co-opting girlhood and making it something you can put on. Like a snazzy new outfit. See more Iain H @Coliander May 30 As a 45 year-old cisgender male, I initially felt like I was absolutely not the target audience for this series and almost gave it a miss. I'm absolutely delighted that I didn't. This is easily one of the best miniseries' I've seen this year. I watched all eight episodes in one sitting and could gladly go back and do it again. Every performance was absolutely stellar, particularly Ellis who gives an absolutely standout performance as Byron; but to single out Ellis' performance truly feels like a disservice to the rest of cast who all did a phenomenal job. It's such a shame that this series didn't get much publicity/recognition when it originally aired (if it did, it completely passed me by). This is a must watch for everyone - particularly those that have perhaps had their perception of the trans community coloured by the recent social discourse over the last couple of years.
